All-Purpose Courts

The following is for all weather court procedures. Such as Basketball, tennis, volleyball  courts. All these have  the same procedure of construction. The only difference is in the markings.

A standard tennis court measures, 40x20metres, but however  there is room for flexibility to suit the site and also customers preferences.

The first stage when constructing a court is to clear the site, clearing off all rubbles and dirt, then follows the removal of top soil to a depth specified by the engineer depending on the nature of the ground. After the top soil has been excavated and carried away, the excavated area will be filled using gravel which will be compacted in layers to create a firm base or a firm ground that will resist    ground failure or ground movements.

Other layers of crusher run or 7mm quarry stones are placed on top of the compacted gravel fill, thereby creating a second layer that will be primed with Stable 60 (tar)  that will act as a binder of the bottom layer and the quarry dust to be laid on top and compacted again. These works will run simultaneously with the erection of fence poles as well as the fencing itself.

After all this, special sand mixes and resins are applied on the created surface, then follows the oxides thereby giving the court its colours. Posts for nets or dunking rings etc., are positioned during the early stages of excavations. The final stages are the line markings, net tightening and lightings.

We do court resurfacing as well. Which involves some of the processes mentioned above.
